CVDPREVENT 2025 Annual Audit Report has now been published
The CVDPREVENT team are very pleased to share that the CVDPREVENT 2025 Annual Audit Report has now been published! Find it on our website on our outputs page here. This year the report summarises the key national findings and recommendations from the March 2025 core data and January 2024 – December 2024 outcomes data.
Key findings around hypertension, cholesterol and chronic kidney disease include:
70% of patients with hypertension were treated to the recommended blood pressure threshold.
57% of patients with a GP recorded QRISK score of 10% or more, or CKD or high risk diabetes, had a prescription for lipid lowering therapy (LLT).
37.5% of patients from the black ethnic group had their cholesterol treated to threshold compared to 53.3% and 48.5% in the Asian and White ethnic groups.
52.4% of GP recorded CKD patients had urine ACR tests in past 12 months.
Over 1 million individuals were reported as having a blood pressure reading of systolic >=140mmHg and diastolic >=90mmHg but no GP-recorded hypertension diagnosis
In February 2024 outcomes indicators were developed, click here to find out more about these indicators. Key findings around the outcomes indicators are identified in the CVDPREVENT 2025 Annual Audit Report, for example:
Looking at patients with a diagnosis of hypertension as of 1st January 2024, the CVD mortality rate for those whose latest blood pressure was in the ‘high’ or ‘very high’ risk groups had worse outcomes than those with lower blood pressures.

We have also developed a Patient and Public Report here. Please feel free to share this version on any patient facing channels/forums. If you would like more information on the Patient and Public Report, please email nhsbn.cvdprevent@nhs.net
